As a kid, my life was intertwined with the roar of engines and the hum of tires on asphalt. My father, a tow truck driver, introduced me to the vast world of automobiles as we traveled through Oregon and Washington, hauling cars and delving into the automotive industry. My love for classic cars, imports, and custom creations was born from those countless hours spent on the road. To me, a car isn't just a vehicle; it's a canvas that reflects the character and passion of its owner.
At 16, I landed my first job installing irrigation systems for a small but reputable sprinkler services company in Oregon. Working outdoors year-round, I developed a keen eye for detail and a deep appreciation for craftsmanship. Over the next several years, I climbed the ranks to become a crew leader, often working solo or with a small team in some of the most stunning landscapes imaginable. My experiences in those elite yards shaped my work ethic and honed my skills.
After many years, I ventured out of state, seeking new experiences and opportunities. This brief but enlightening chapter of my life taught me invaluable lessons. Upon returning to Oregon, I resumed part-time work with my previous employer while exploring new avenues and making new connections. During this time, I immersed myself in Portland's vibrant nightlife, frequenting drag shows at Embers Avenue and Darcelle's XV. These experiences helped me find my true calling and broadened my horizons.
My path eventually led me to work for an FTM prosthetics company, where I accepted a production manager position despite the company's poor reputation. Determined to help, I worked tirelessly to clear backlogged orders and redesign the product lineup, focusing on user-friendly, aesthetically pleasing designs. My efforts paid off, and I became the general manager, forming a close bond with the owner and envisioning my own perfect Stand To Pee Device.
In November 2019, with the support of my colleagues and the financial help of my then-partner, I founded Hard Line Prosthetics. Using a credit card to purchase materials, I began creating high-quality, custom prosthetics. Each product was a labor of love, crafted by hand from start to finish in my shop.
My journey from a kid in a tow truck to the founder of Hard Line Prosthetics has been filled with hard work, passion, and a relentless pursuit of excellence. Through every twist and turn, I've remained dedicated to my craft, creating products that make a meaningful difference in people's lives. This is my story, a testament to the power of perseverance and the beauty of following one's true calling.
